As part of our Africa orientation with PBT, we spent two weeks in an East African village, living with a local family, eating local food, and learning about the local culture. This video shows what life was like for us there.

Today we leaving to spend 2 weeks in a village a few hours away from home. This is part of our cultural orientation, and we hope it will be a great time of language learning and an opportunity for us to understand more about life in this part of Africa.

We will not have electricity during this time, so we will not be posting any video updates, replying to any emails, or updating anything else online. We will have a camera and will post photos and videos after we return. Please keep us in your prayers, especially for our health as it not uncommon for people to return from village living with some health issues. Thanks!

We visited a nearby National Wildlife Park here in East Africa where we were able to photograph many wild animals, but our adventure took a turn for the worse when our truck became stuck in the mud! We spent five hours in the park at night after the park closed before we were finally rescued.

We made it! Our trip from Delaware to London to East Africa went smoothly and we are adjusting well. We are very excited to finally be here. We are hoping to post one video a week while we are here, so stay tuned.

After finishing our training with PBT in Dallas, we are moving back to Delaware for a while. This is a video of our trip back. We were stuck in a horrible snow storm and stranded on I-81 in Virginia for almost 24 hours! The trip took three days instead of the two days we were expecting, but we made it safely.

This weekend we took a trip down to San Antonio, TX where we got to see the beautiful River Walk as well as the Alamo.

For our fall break we flew back to Delaware and got to hang out with our friends and families. It was a nice extended weekend for us, and it was great seeing everyone again!
