I was able to get LASIK eye surgery to correct my vision so I won’t need to bring contacts or glasses to Africa with us. In this video we talk about the surgery and also our plans as we head toward our final week here in the states.

It’s kind of strange preparing to move to Africa while there is two feet of snow on the ground here in Delaware! This video marks the return of our regular updates, which we hope to continue after moving overseas next month.

After finishing our training with PBT in Dallas, we are moving back to Delaware for a while. This is a video of our trip back. We were stuck in a horrible snow storm and stranded on I-81 in Virginia for almost 24 hours! The trip took three days instead of the two days we were expecting, but we made it safely.

We’re having a lot of fun in our language acquisition class, practicing techniques with the help of a Swahili speaker. These tools will help us to learn languages faster and more effectively once we are in Africa. At least that’s the plan.
